“Sobibor” movie premiered in 2018 directed by Konstantin Khabenskiy and starring Konstantin Khabenskiy as Alexander Pecherskiy has been submitted for the Academy Award for Best foreign language film of the year 2018 by The Foreign Language Film Award Committee of Russia presided by Vladimir Menshov. It was reported by producer Alexander Rodnyansky that «Sobibor» was voted by majority of the Commitee members. The nominees for the Academy Award will be announced on January, 22nd, 2019 and the 91st edition of the Academy Award will take place on February, 24th, 2019 at Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Earlier «Sobibor» was named by Roskino one of the most successful movies of the year 2018.
